The Cultural Plan

Community Partner Research and Data

Over a six-month period, the team created a variety of opportunities for expansive cross-sections of residents from all five boroughs to participate. This process sought to develop a clear picture of the experiences, values, and cultural priorities of New Yorkers from all walks of life. These partners held workshops, organized convenings and focus groups, distributed surveys, and submitted original research. Additionally, 10 organizations and/or coalitions received grants from the Cultural Agenda Fund in the New York Community Trust to organize and engage communities around the plan and provide policy recommendations to the cultural planning team. The following section includes these community partners’ findings.
